Sustaining Membership

Sustaining Members have fulfilled Active membership requirements and shall continue to support the JLGL in its mission, goals and objectives. As our largest membership class, Sustaining Members are a huge source of support for the League. They provide a connection to our past while their financial support keeps us moving into the future.

Additionally, Sustaining Members are invited to participate in variety of social, volunteer and training activities throughout the year.

SUSTAINING MEMBER AWARDS

The Carol Jenkins Barnett Sustainer of the Year Award – Recognizing outstanding volunteer service in a community service organization or through community service over a significant number of years.

Sarah D. McKay Award – The Sarah D. McKay Award was established in 2018 in honor of Past President Sarah Duke McKay and recognizes a Junior League of Greater Lakeland member in good standing who personifies philanthropy, leadership, empowerment and inclusiveness and a commitment to improving our community.

SUSTAINING MEMBER REQUIREMENTS

Sustaining members of The Junior League of Greater Lakeland have only one requirement, paying Annual Dues. Dues include $43 for membership in the Association of Junior Leagues International and are determined by member age.

  • Sustainers under 80 years of age pay $105
  • Sustainers over 80 are exempt from dues

 

Eligibility
A member in good standing may become a sustaining member after her 7th Active League year.

Procedures
To change your membership status, you must submit a request in writing to the Corresponding Secretary by March 1.

Sustaining Advisors
A sustaining member may serve as a sustaining committee advisor to an active committee upon approval of the Board of Directors.
