New Members (Provisionals)

Each fall, the Junior League of Greater Lakeland welcomes a new group of exceptional women to its Provisional Class. The purpose of the Provisional Class is to provide an introduction to The Junior League of Greater Lakeland (JLGL), the Lakeland community and the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI). Group training programs, speakers and program experiences are utilized to enhance volunteer and leadership skills. In addition, members of the Provisional Class have the opportunity to create friendships with other provisional, active and sustaining JLGL members.

2026-2027 registration will be open from March 15 through June 15.

THE PROVISIONAL COURSE

The Provisional Course is a ten-month training curriculum designed to introduce you to JLGL and prepare you for active membership. Upon completion of the Provisional Course, you will become an Active JLGL member equipped with the following:

  • A working knowledge of how JLGL operates and IMPACTS our community

  • An understanding of your role within JLGL and the many opportunities to SERVE our community

  • New RELATIONSHIPS with your provisional class and the larger membership

YOUR PROVISIONAL REQUIREMENTS AT A GLANCE:

  • Schedule One New Member Information Phone Call (July 2026 – will be scheduled after registration deadline)

  • Attend New Member Welcome Party (August 2026)

  • Attend Half-day New Member Retreat (August 2026)

  • Attend monthly Provisional Meeting every second Tuesday (September to April)

  • Attend September General Membership Meetings (First Tuesday of that month)

  • Attend League Socials

  • Attend JLGL Spring Banquet (May 2027)

  • Volunteer at the Lakeland Christmas Parade with JLGL (December 3rd, 2026)

  • Complete a volunteer shift at JLGL’s World of Reading event (April 2027)

  • Provisionals must complete 45 points, made up of required and optional events, throughout the year. More information will be provided.

FINANCIAL COMMITMENT

  • Registration Fee: $25.00 (Must be submitted after registration submission)

  • Annual Dues: $200.00 (Payment must be received by August 2026) Annual Dues go towards JLGL Shirt and Apron, Building fee, Association dues, and Membership dues.

  • Spring Banquet Ticket: $65.00 (To be paid in May 2027)
