Lakeland Pig Festival
Lakeland Pig Festival is the Florida State Barbecue Championship. What started as a small festival in 1997 has evolved into a festival with over 300 BBQ teams and over 30,000 in attendance!
The Junior League of Greater Lakeland has provided volunteers to help run the event for the last decade. The pig festival has generated over $100,000 in contributions to charitable organizations within Polk County since 1997.

In conjunction with the City of Lakeland, the JLGL organizes and conducts the annual Christmas parade each year in the downtown Lakeland area. There are approximately 100 participants each year in the parade and thousands of spectators.
