| 2008 Lakeland Christmas Parade | Christmas Parade: December 4, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. VISTE will accept canned or nonperishable food donations at this year's parade:
click here for more information In conjunction with the City of Lakeland, JLGL organizes and conducts the annual Christmas parade each year in the downtown Lakeland area. There are approximately 100 participants each year in the parade and thousands of spectators. All information for the parade can be found on the Junior League’s website beginning June 1st each year. | | 2009 Lakeland Pig Festival | | |  | January 30-31, 2009 Lakeland Pig Festival is the Florida State Barbecue Championship. What started as a small festival in 1997 has evolved into a festival with over 300 BBQ teams and over 30,000 in attendance! The Junior League of Greater Lakeland has provided volunteers to help run the event for the last decade. The pig festival has generated over $100,000 in contributions to charitable organizations within Polk County since 1997. |
